Temporary measures to support those affected 🚨
The current situation in Lebanon is devastating, and the Government of Canada has put in place temporary measures to help Canadian and Lebanese families affected by this crisis. 🌍
Canada supports Canadian citizens, permanent residents (PRs), and their immediate family members who have left Lebanon since September 29, 2024, or later by offering them options to extend their status, work, or study in Canada at no cost. 💼👨🎓
👉 Are you a family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has left Lebanon? You can apply for an open work permit, a study permit or a status extension to settle temporarily and safely in Canada.
💬 The CSAI is by your side to assist you in these administrative procedures and to offer you personalized support upon your arrival.
Our services include:
Integration assistance to facilitate your first steps
Orientation and social
Assistance in finding housing
Medical care and essential services
Psychosocial support for those requiring counselling services
Support in applying for work or study permits
French courses and cultural integration programs will help you adapt better.
>>Thanks to a substantial donation from the Institut Notre-Dame du Bon-Conseil de Montréal and generous donations from our donors, the CSAI can finally realize its long-standing project – the development of a temporary housing site for government-assisted refugees (GARs). Named “La Maison Marie Gérin-Lajoie” in honour of Sister Marie Gérin-Lajoie, founder of the community that gave birth to the CSAI and a pioneer of social action in Quebec, this shelter, the first of its kind in Montreal, will provide refugees with a warm place adapted to their needs.
The adaptation of the rooms, the layout and the functioning of the temporary shelter require financial investments, and the CSAI would like to be self-financing in this regard. We are therefore counting on the generosity of donors to collect donations and allow people to be housed in good conditions, ready to fully engage in their settlement and integration process in Quebec.
Volunteering is an essential part of our organization. The help we receive allows us to obtain the necessary support for immigrant and refugee families: homework help and francization, literacy, integration activities or access to basic needs (food, housing, etc.)
