History of CSAI

Founded in 1947 by the Institut Notre-Dame du Bon-Conseil, the Centre Social d’Aide aux Immigrants (CSAI) has been a beacon of hope for thousands of refugees. Over the years, CSAI has adapted to the evolving needs of newcomers, offering a wide range of services such as language courses, employment assistance, and support during times of global crisis. Recognized for its dedication, CSAI received an award in 1984 and solidified its role as a leader in immigrant integration by obtaining its letters patent in 1996.

Today, CSAI operates from four service points, providing daily support to a diverse group of temporary residents, international students, temporary workers, refugees, and asylum seekers. Each day, CSAI works to help newcomers find their place in Quebec, offering them the tools and guidance they need to succeed.

We invite you to dive into CSAI’s rich history, explored in four fascinating chapters, and learn more about our commitment to supporting immigrants on their journey to full integration.
